Has anyone's DC gottena rash from not washing new clothes?

In Thomas' 18 months of life, I've never not washed his new clothes before wearing... until today.

Today was picture day at daycare, and I picked up a new outfit for him yesterday while I was at work. I didn't have time to wash it last night and I figured it would be OK.

When I picked him up today, he had a rash all around his neck where the collar rubbed against his neck and under his arms.

I am so upset and feel like a terrible mother for not making time to wash the outfit.

Has this happened to anyone else? I put aquaphor and a little hydrocortisone cream on the areas.

aww its okay, Im sure the rash was just b/c the stiffness of the material. Im sure the aquaphor and cortizone cream will clear it up by tomorrow.

I must be a really mad mom b/c I never wash his news clothes anymore

I would put just a little aquaphor or cream on it. I think he'll be ok

The rash was actually much worse this morning... I'm so upset... He also had one spot on his face, so I'm wondering if it was from the clothes at all... I have a call in to the doctor....

DS will get a rash from collared shirts if I do not wash them first. It is PITA b/c the collars never look as crisp after they are washed, but what can you do?
