I have no idea what to get DS. He is really into cars, trucks and trains so I was thinking something along those lines but not sure. I also have no idea what to tell people to get him when they ask.

I have been thinking about it. Mostly b/c it's going to be his 1st Christmas, as well as our niece's first. But, DS will only be 7 1/2 months and our niece will be 11 1/2 months.

I have NO idea what to get either one of them. I think this year, I will suggest just getting gifts for the kids, not the whole dang family (that'd put me in the poor house for sure--and I'm already half way there! Chat Icon )

DC's will be 9 months old. I bought them gifts for that age and ones they can use when they are 18 months or so. I'll put all of the presents under the tree but they will only open two or three each. Some of the other ones... ride on, etc. that they are not ready for, I'll put away for later.

I'll get them the next stage of developmental toys for their 1st birthday.

I always found that no matter how many toys kids get they can get overwhelmed and only play with two or so anyway. I see it with my nieces and nephews they are overwhelmed with gifts on Hannukah and Christmas and wind up favoring only two or so toys. Some others they never touch.

My favorite toy growing up was when someone in the neighborhood got new kitchen appliances. My brother and I would make a village out of the boxesChat Icon

I definitly agree that kids get overwhelmed when it comes to comes. DS actually doesn't have alot and after we moved I put some away that he didn't play with. I still have mega leggos and v-tech from last year that I never opened.

My kids get so much that often is too old for them at the time. I have no shame in telling you all that they will be wrapped up again this year since they have no clue I have a stash of unopened toys in the basement.Chat Icon

Emma will only be around 9 mos, so I honestly don't plan on getting her a lot. Maybe a couple of Infantino or Lamaze brand toys since they aren't made of painted plastic.

Nicholas will most likely get Legos since that's what he loves.

DS will only be ablout 6 months...so enough to do something, but I am sure he will be spoiled by our families.

My 1st niece/nephew will be one month old---so I cant wait for that

I started thinking, but I have no clue! I don't want to go too overboard with toys.

Also, is birthday is in November. So we are about to be bombarded.Chat Icon

DS will be 6 and 1/2 months and we said we would buy him about 4 -5 things b/c he will get from others and he will love the wrapping paper as much as the presents.

We already bought two small gifts. Its sooo hard to not buy for him, but in reality he wont need all that much.

So far I have only bought presents FROM DD - for Grandma and for Daddy.

She'll be 6 months + (like Noah!) so I don't know that I will even get her anything - she's the youngest of 13 nieces and nephews on DH's side and 9 on my side, so I think it is payback time!!

DS will only be 6 months old but for his big hanukkah present I want to get him a chair from pottery barn kids that is child sized. We will also get him the next set of developmental toys from places like tiny love and lamaze.
We already got him a duplo train meant for when he starts to crawl.
