Has anyone had an issue with Quest Labs regarding a bill?
I was talking to DH's friend tonight, and he is an Attorney that is in charge of a class action law suit against Quest.
They are apparently billing clients way before they are suppossed to, billing incorrectly and sending collections notices inappropriately.
I have had a lot of issues with them, since I have had to have soo much blood work this pregnancy.
He has been asked to appear on a nightly news show to discuss this. He is looking for anyone that has had problems with Quest and their billing. You would go into Manhattan and tell your story on t.v.
I would have done it, but at 9 months pregnant, I'm not looking soo hot..

I wish I could remember the details but I went to HELL and back with them about a bill from 10 years ago. They refused to bill my insurance company and it was a nightmare. But it was so long ago that I can't even remember all the details to help him.

I had something strange where they were putting in the wrong SS# but after calling them it was taking care of. Could you imagine those that would have just paid it instead of calling.

Same here. They've always been a nightmare to deal with. There was one bill back in the day that kept going around and around. I cringe now when I see their damn little lab boxes.

They once sent me a bill, when I know my insurance company would have paid, I went through my ins comp statements and sure enough they paid it, I think they send out bills to see if you will get scared and pay, once we spoke to them they backed off.....Sneaky

Funny, I had my 3 hour GTT on August 2nd at Quest. I got a letter in the mail yesterday telling me they couldnt process their bill because of incorrect information, they had all my son's information on it. I called them this morning and had an argument with the sh*tty CS rep telling me that was the card that was entered, my son has never been to quest all his bloodwork is done by his pediatrician.
I've gone to quest at least 12x this pregnancy and never had a problem till now

yes me... I went for blood work and they changed my address in the systme twice.... I never personally received the bill and then when I tought it was fixed they send me a late notice.... They are horrible!!!

Dh did have issued with Quest.
The doctor had the right code, but quest had the wrong code. They sent a letter it was going into collections if not resolved by X date. I called them, they admitted to their error in the code and was resubmitting it. Then weeks later started receiving collection letter... I had to have our health insurance company call them to resolve it, twice our company had to call them

I hate Quest Lab...they sent me lab work with all the wrong social security number and date of birth. Mind you this was after I had blood drawn there multiple times. When I called them about it they had the never to tell me that they would just correct the information at the top and resend the results. Being a nurse myself I said no way I can't garantee that it is even my lab work if you can't verify the correct information at the time of draw. Then they wondered why the insurance won't pay them...maybe its because you tried to tell them that a 16 year old could have their own insurance. I will never ever go back to them. Empire insurance stopped accepting them cause of all the problems with billing that they had.

Yes!!!!!! They took over 20 vials of blood in my first trimester. I thought that was a nightmare until I received the 600 dollar bill because my insurance wouldn't cover it. I was actually going to Pay it! I just called my obgyn to see what tests they were. They balked At the bill, told me they would contact quest and miraculously it became a mistake! I wouldn't mind filing against them!!!!

Here's my story...
I was going to the doctor frequently, and would get bills from Quest, $10 here, $15 there.
I began to keep a closer eye on those bills, as I started to get billed for doctors' tests I thought I had paid for.
I documented the date and account number in my checkbook because something didn't seem right.
It turns out I WAS being billed for procedures I had paid for. When I called them, I was told to throw the bills away and that "we just made a mistake." It was happening way too frequently for them to be mistakes.
Keep your slips that you get from them, because I think they are untrustworthy.

i just got a $700something bill for bloodwork - they are the preferred lab for my insurance, but for some reason they billed me as out of network (50% coinsurance, as opposed to my usual 10%).

wait i have a question...if i go for bloodwork or have any other kind of test done, a while later i always get a bill for $18. they say its my co-pay. am i supposed to be paying these? when the tests are done at the doctors office i thought that the test was covered as part of the visit with the copay i pay to the doctor. so should i or shouldnt i be paying the $18 bill to quest?

I would ask your insurance company- I never pay a co-pay for labwork.

That happened to me too and now the insurance doesn't want to pay for it because apparently quest billed it wrong and it has been too long
I don't have $600 to pay for their mistakes..........
