Has anyone added a staircase to their home (specifically to the attic)?

We have a huge attic we would eventually like to finish into a playroom/den. Right now there is just the pull down steps. We were thinking since this would be an expensive reno, to do it slowly, like first do the stairs, then the insulation, drywall, floors, ect. Has anyone redone their attic or added a staircase to their home? What did it entail and how expensive can this get? We want an oak staircase. The attic is about 800 square feet also.
Thanks!

We used a company on rt 112 in Medford for a new set of oak stairs and it cost $1500 I think.

Was that just for the stairs or did that include installation? Do you remember the name of the company? Thanks!

We moved our staircase from the front to the back of the house - I have an excellent stair builder. He built us Oak stairs and he will be doing the railings for us too. We paid $400 for the stairs - Not sure what he charges for installation but if you are interested send me an fm and I will give you his phone number. He is an amazing stair builder
