has any one had an infected spider bite- EDITED its MRSA
I have a bad one on my knee. It got really badly infected , the dr put me on a months worth of strong antibiotics and cortizone shot Ive been on for 2 days now. It was pussing for awhile and now most of the pus is drained but there is a hole yes a hole in my leg the size of a pencil eraser. There are no lines and the swelling has gone down but Im still so Im so freaked out... Anyone have something like this? It this hole going to close. Its like an 1/2 deep  Im nervous about this...'
Well thank god I am a hypochodriac - I had a sinking suspicision that it was MRSA- esp since my son had something very similar a few months back and they suspected MRsa but couldnt confirm since his boil had drained. I told my dr to switch my antiboitcs to Bactrim which is the drug of choice for MRSA " just in case" the culture came back positive and today after 2 weeks it did come back positive.
Its really scary but the good news is my infection is much better....im just nervous

I remember having a badly infected spider bite as a kid and I had a deep crater for a while before it heeled.

You poor thing!  I never had one but I can certainly understand that it would freak you out. I'm sure in time it will close up. The human body has an amazing way of taking care of itself. Feel better!

Not to scare you or anything, but did he culture it for MRSA? My son had MRSA and it looks just like a spider bite.

My daughter had Granuloma Annulare which started off like that !! Its worth asking them!! I hope it gets better

they did Im waiting for the results the ony thing that gives me hope that it is not that is that it started out as itchy bite...

I was bitten by a brown recluse spider about 10 years ago. The bite was on my neck, near my corotid artery and I absolutely freaked out!!! The hole was there for a while.
But now I can't even tell you what side of my neck it was on.

My mom had 2 of these a few months ao. Very scary!! They took a while to go away

This is what I was going to say, too. My sister thought that she had a razor cut or something that got infected on her leg, and it turned out to be MRSA. As long as you've had it cultured and are on meds now, you'll be ok!
