Happy Mommy Day from David and Rachel!
I've been taking photos of DS every year with a Mother's Day greeting in the photo. This year, I have two DC to get in the photo (which is much harder than it seems....   ) David actually cooperated and "wrote" the entire message. I wrote it in pencil, and he traced every letter. He can write by himself, but with that many letters involved, I figured it would be easier for him and me if we did it this way. Maybe next year, I'll have him do a lot more.

Thanks, everyone. I don't spend a lot of $$ on DW (she's not really into jewelry or flowers), so I try to focus on things like this. If anyone wants to try these ideas, if you do the computer idea, type the words, then do a screen-capture, and have a copy of the screen-capture on the screen. I tried having a live version of Word on the screen, but every time David would bang on the keyboard, it messed up the words! I let him play on the computer, but not with the photo props....
I think things like this are so much more valuable and meaningful to a mother, and don't cost anything (we already had the roll of paper, the markers and crayons and the camera). It only takes about 30 minutes or so (assuming DC cooperate and smile for the camera.... ). Even if you don't have much money to spend, you can still make some great gifts, and the kids are directly involved as well. I'm planning on keeping up this tradition as long as possible. The medium will change, of course, but the idea will remain the same. Chalk on the sidewalk, completely self-sufficient posters (with none of my help to make them), rocks on the beach, art projects, etc.
