Throughout my entire pregnancy I had a lot of pain in my groin area -- and my doctor always said it was "round ligament pain" and it was due to the pressure from the baby.

My sister is pregnant - due this week - and she's been complaining of the same pain. When she went to the nurse practitioner the other day the nurse was way more concerned then her DR was and checked it out when she did her internal and it turns out that she has a REALLY bad vericose vein in her groin and quite a few inside of her also.

She said that they are all because of the extra weight she is carrying around and that they'll hopefully go away after pregnancy. Now my sister's groin upper leg is turning purple and the doctor said the vein probably is bleeding out -- and not to be concerned, that it will go away.

Anyway I didn't know that the groin pain could be caused by this -- my dr never really mentioned it but I'd hope that if I had it he would have.

I don't mean to freak yo uall out, just something to keep in mind.
