Granite with cherry cabinets
FH and I bought our house a couple months ago and now that the wedding is over we can focus on our house. The old owners redid the kitchen with beautiful cherry cabinets but I am not crazy about the countertop. It is a white corian (which is nice) but so HARD to keep clean. We wanted to look into granite but arent sure if we should do a dark or light color with the cherry cabinets. Can you post pics if you have any?

I don't have granite, wish I did but I would recommend the dark, if you have the white now, the dark would probably be what you want. Sounds pretty!

My sister has "warm" color granite, if that makes any sense. It's a beigeish with specks of black, red and grey. It's quite gorgeous...

Here's pics of my kitchen. The cabinets are a cherry, actually called Paprika stain and my granite is Black Galaxy... not solid black but with small flecks of gold and bronze.
What color is your floor tile?
ETA: Black granite can be just as hard to keep clean because it can get a bit streaky. Just wipe and polish by spraying with Glass Plus (Never use ammonia based products on granite) and dry with a paper towel.
My MIL has a very busy patterned granite and I swear you could drop a pizza on it and not see it. She has to look at it at an angle to make sure everything is wiped off. Image Attachment(s):

my sister & BIL have a gourmet kitchen with cherry cabinets, SS appliances and black granite counters. it looks AMAZING! their house was built in 2000 and they were able to pick everything. back then, this "gourmet look" was just starting to become mainstream and when I first saw their kitchen I

I've posted pics of my kitchen before, but here they are again. We have granite, it may be hard to see in these pictures, but the countertops are kind of like a cherry color.

That's a beautiful kitchen! I was SO close to getting Black Galaxy on our bartop - I love it! I love the sparkle that it has. Our bar cabinets aren't cherry - they're more of a medium brown. I went with Uba Tuba and it looks awesome! I'll have to take some pictures.....
