Girls who ran LI half marathon today....
First off congrats to everyone! How did you do??? I thought the weather was pretty good, a little drizzly but not bad! I have run in worse! The line at the porta potties in the start was terrible...we barely made it to the start in time! LOL!
Anyway I checked my results and did pretty well but am so mad because it is only showing my gun time...how do I get my chip time! I am p!ssed! What is the point of wearing a chip??? I am so confused??
I didnt check the clock when I ran over the start mat but think I started 1-1:45 minutes after gun. Anyway I am just angry because my goal was to try and break 2 hours and my time came in at 2:01:30 but I think my chip time was faster than that!!!! WTH?

I hated the weather today - I felt like I couldn't dry my face (of course I couldn't find my visor this morning and went without it)
I don't know what's going on with the chip times! I know that I was 1:15 behind the gun - that's what my ipod was saying at every mile.
I was pretty happy though either way - my unofficial time was 1:53:34 (ipod time) and my newsday time was 1:54:49. what if someone were trying to qualify for Boston or something like that?

2 of my sils ran today know that 1 of them came in 2hrs 4 minutes but how can I check my other one??is it online somewhere?

Hi girlies! I had a great time at the race today  I loved the weather and the rain...maybe I'm a glutton for punishment 
I was happy with my first half-marathon performance. I pretty much maintained a 9:30ish pace the entire race. My time is off too - I believe I was 2 minutes off of the gun time. www.flrrt.com should have the correct timings but we shall see.
Congrats to everyone who ran this weekend! Sounds like you girls totally rocked!!!

I was pisted when I looked up my name in Newsday and it was 3 minutes diffrent than what my real time was.
You girls rocked. I really pushed it into high gear today. I looked it up on Flicxr(the website Azoodie said) and it had the right chip time.
I was 1 minuted under what I wanted to be but realisticly I didn't train for that speed. I just wanted to have enough juice to keep going. I held a pretty steady pace of 10:35. I am happy with my time. It was my 2nd race and 1st half.
I am a bit sore but still happy. Congrats to all. I am so happy I did it. Loved the weather also.

Im in PAIN!!!
I was much slower (i wanted to do 12 min mile, did a 12:50), but it was my first half AND I totally slacked off on my training. I need to do speedwork!
Can't wait till the next one!

thanks azad for the site - i was 3 sec faster than I thought
meaghan - take some ibruprophen..it makes a huge difference (like 600mg if you can) I had a stabbing pain in my calf at mile 11 to the end and amazingly I feel pretty good now.

How is everyone feeling? I feel pretty good, with the help of ibruprophen! LOL
Did anyone watch themselves cross the finishline on channel 612? I made DH watch me this morning.

COngrats to all of you. I don't think I ate enough before the race and boy did I pay for it. I got some pretty nasty charly horses at the end and it slowed me up from mile 9 on. Ugh. Finished in 2:25 though which is not bad for me. Just wish I would have ate some more in the morning.
Had so much fun and was amazed how organized that race was and how many people volunteer for it. I was saying thank you to everyone I got a water from. Those kids were great.
I had a bad headache yesterday and was really sore but after a few tylenol i started feeling a lot better!

August?? That sounds super hot to me  I was considering the Brooklyn half at the end of this month but I think I am going to give my body a bit of a break and just do the NYS park summer series.
My quads are really SORE! I am actually surprised at how sore I was yesterday too.
I am so proud of you girls  I feel like we did this as a team even though I have never met any of you or even saw any of you yesterday
I watched myself on news12.com I am the pink blur to the right of the camera crossing at 2:07:24 I loved watching the finishers!!! I got to go and see all my friends crossing!

I met my goal, which was to finish in 2 hours - I got 2:00:12 YAY! (9:17 mile)This was my third 1/2 marathon and I improved my time alot by over 10 minutes! Also I did not mind the drizzle, I wore a hat because I hate the water in my face too and have ran 2 races in the rain and learned my lesson.
Here is a pic of my sister and I (me in blue)....she did great and finished 1:48!

I said thank you to everyone! There were so many water stations and the volunteers were great! I loved the Energizer bunny one...they all had shirts that said "Keep GOing"
