getting sick while pregnant

hi all. i am 25 weeks and last monday i started coming down with a sore throat so i went to the doctor on tuesday and he said i had a throat infection. i get these about 3 times a year normally, usually when the weather changes. anyway, he gave me amoxicillin (which my OB also okayed) to take for 5 days. normally after taking one day of meds, i am back to normal but this time, it is day 5 and i am still coughing away. the sore throat has gone away but i have this annoying hacking cough. i have never been sick this long and i am wondering if being pregnant slows down recovery time. does anyone have experience with anything similar? im getting nervous and i hate when i cough bc i feel bad for the baby even though everyone says she is fine. every morning i wake up expecting to be back to normal but i still feel under the weather and this cough is just annoying. should i see my doctor again? or is this normal during pregnancy? i had the same thing when i was around 20 something weeks. i had strep and it wouldnt go away. i took z pak and tylenol; i had a fever, nothing made it go away. i was sick for about a month and a half. it just didnt want to go away and you cant take much . try nursing it on your own. the cough stays for a while. it sux.

sickness tends to stick around when you are pregnant unfortunately try to rest and feel better

I've gotten more colds/illness this pregnancy than I did all last year I think. I find it tends to linger longer while pregnant as well. Hope you feel better soon and if you get relief from you cough let me know! I'm suffering from the same thing!
