Fun Birthday Place in NYC....Please Help
It's a big 30th bday. and looking for a fun place for about 15 people....anywhere in Manhatten. Restaurant and then bar/club...something with dancing but not too clubish.
Can anyone help...the bday is this Sat.

Its been hit or miss lately, buth there is a thai resturant in the Meatpacking district that has beds on the top floor (for drinks/dessert) tables on the midlevel floor and a club (ball room - with reall plastic balls) on the bottom. Of course I forget its name, but that might work for you.

There's this place called MOD that pretty cool and different. It has an 80s theme, but not too over the top like Culture Club. As far as eating, it's certainly not gourmet, it's like apps and finer foods. On Friday nights they have a $20 open bar special from like 10-2 or something like that.

I like Tony DiNapolis for big groups for dinner and there's a Brazillian BBQ place I have been wanting to try Platafoma - that would probably be fun for a big group.
The last few times we went dancing we ended up at Session 73. Good mix of music everytime I have been. There's dancing on the bar side and a loungy "quieter section" on the other side. It turns out they have a menu as well, but I have only been there for drinks. There's a mixed crowd and it gets pretty crowded but we always have a good time there.

For my 30th- we did Toni Dinapoli's on the Upper East Side( very affordable for dinner) and then Session 73 for drinks after. I think I had about 15 people there and it was the first time my friends met my husband...
I lived on 70th and York so it was perfect... I can't believe it was four years ago...

Ohhh... I love those places. I haven't been to Bed but I have gone to Duvet a bunch of times. Its so nice. While my single friends are off mingling I can sit with my feet up and enjoy myself. I can't imagine eating dinner there- though.
