Freaking out a little bit....
I am 10 weeks now. I went to my Dr. yesterday and the results of my lab work said that my Folic Acid was low. he put me on extra folic acid, but I am afraid what affect this will have on my baby. He said baby should be okay, but all morning I have been reading horrible things! I couldn't even sleep last night. I have to wait for an ultra screen until Aug 25, and then the results I get set 2, I am freaking out. Has anyone BTD and the baby was fine? Ugh. i am so upset

I also take extra folic acid - I don't think it's too uncommon

Remember that before the days of prenatal vitamins and supplements, women didn't take in extra folic acid, and most went on to have perfectly healthy babies.

when I was newly pregnant, I found out that I have MTHFR (a blood clotting disorder). One of the results of this is that your body does not process folic acid as it should, so for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, I was taking my prenatals but they were not doing a thing, it was as if I was not taking anything
I was freaking out about the effects of this on my dd but I had an early level II, at 16 weeks and everything was fine

My doctor prescribed me extra folic acid from day 1 and I've been on it ever since, it's good for the baby
