Forks over Knives/vegetarian/whole foods how to??? Especially with kids
I'm not a big meat eater at all...maybe 2-3 times a month and I don't eat fish or poultry. But I love dairy and eggs.
I would like to start by just trying to get to a whole foods menu and then reducing the animal products we use. I know a little bit at a time is better than nothing at all.
My biggest hurdle is DS#2. He is extremely picky and has some slight sensory issues. I thought I could wean him by finishing our freezer supply, but any help with going to a whole foods diet would be appreciated.
I'm anticipating some tantrums...he has some extra meat on him...I guess he won't starve?

Ive done it all and seen it all when it comes to vegetarian and veganism. I even did the raw food lifestyle for a bit. I love experimenting and I find it all very fascinating.
My kids don't really eat a lot of meat. I never fed my oldest baby food with the meat in it - it just grossed me out and I read too much stuff. My oldest is very picky, though.
One tip I have is creating a "snack plate" that looks appetizing and cool to kids. I truly think presentation is 80% of the battle with some kids, KWIM?
For example, I will chop up carrots, apple slices, mandarin, melon, add raisins, etc. Maybe I make it into face, etc. Something creative. I may give a little cup of yogurt and give him a Fondu stick thing to dip his fruits in the yogurt. It makes it fun.
They have vegan yogurt, too.
You can also make your own "healthy candy bars" like an energy bar with dried fruits, granola, etc.
eta: frozen berries and the like always seem to be crowd pleasers.
oh and frozen bananas dipped in chocolate. yummy
