For those whose DH/FH gets home later...

or they get home before you, do you wait for each other to eat dinner?
On the days that JT works, he gets home at like 8pm. During the summer, I would wait to eat dinner, because I was waking up at like 8 instead of 5:45, and then my whole eating schedule was shifted, but now, I just CANNOT wait for him. I was starving before and ate. I feel bad leaving him to eat on his own, though. The only good thing is that it's only every-other week that this happens, but I just cannot wait 8 hours from lunch until dinner!Chat Icon

depends on what time...if it's 10pm, then no. I eat at 6-7pm.

Depends on how late he gets home. When he works the night shift we eat dinner together before he goes.
When he works the day shift but is working alot of OT and gets home late NO WAY
I need to feed Anthony anyway, So Anthony and I have dinner together and I save him food or he makes himself something/picks up something when he gets home

We get home at more or less the same time, but DH goes to martial arts class twice a week from 7 to 8. He does not like to eat before, and I don't always wait for him. I go to bed really early so dinner at 8 is hard for me.

If I happen to be off from work, then I will definitely wait.

It depends, but usually no. Tonight he'll be home around 8:30, but I ate about 6:30

I try to wait, but I don't if it is past 7:00. Otherwise I start to snack and not on healthy stuff. I will sit and talk to him while he eats though, so we still have that time together to talk. Chat Icon

Re: For those whose DH/FH gets home later...

DH has class after work on Tues, Wed and Thurs and doesn't get home until 10pm. I go to work on Tues. and Thurs at 8pm so obviously I have to eat alone on those 2 days. As far as wed. I just can't eat after 8pm so I make dinner fo us both, but I go ahead and eat then heat his up for him when he gets home.

We're usually home at the same time for dinner but on nights like tonight where he is out playing raquetball I will cook and eat my dinner then he'll heat his up when he gets home. I don't really feel bad though because he doesn't seem to mind.

We wait for one another but there is not a huge time difference between our arrival times.

Re: For those whose DH/FH gets home later...

Usually, DH gets home before me and he waits for me for dinner. On the nights that he gets home late I wait for him unless its past 8PM
