For those of you who registered for the Graco infant car seat?

Did you register for the snugride or the safeseat? The snugride has higher ratings in baby bargains but it doesn't seem babies r us have to many online, is the safeseat replacing the snugride?

I registered for the snugride because of what I read in baby bargains. I also read some reviews on BRU.com and people said that the safe seat is heavier and a little bulkier to carry around, but the advantage would be that it can carry babies up to a higher number of pounds. I don't think the safe seat is replacing the snugride.

Granted I didn't check the weight of the SnugRide, but, I didn't and still don't think that the SafeSeat is too heavy...

We will see when DD gets here.

Snugride for my car, safeseat for dh's car. He's bigger than me and can handle the bulkiness, plus the baby will use the safeseat longer than the snugride and we wanted at least one that would last a little longer before we had to upgrade.

Thanks for all your input I am going to the store and see how much heavier the safeseat is. But I saw this pattern online and I really like it too.

Re: For those of you who registered for the Graco infant car seat?

hmmm..as a BTDT mommy, the snugride is almost 2 lbs lighter than the safeseat's 10lbs. AND i can prob guarantee you, you will not be carrying your baby in the infant seat when he/she is over 18lbs, that seat gets HEAVY! unless you plan on leaving the carseat in the car all the time.

Just do the math-10lb carseat + baby's weight.

Both my girls were out of the infant seat sadly when they hit 18lbs max way before the height/weight restrictions of the snugride, it was just TOOO heavy to carry and put in the car for both DH and I. I miss it at times, but my BACK and arms don't!

Just something to think about...

As a BTDT mommy I completely agree! My DS only weighs 16 lbs 12 oz at 5 1/2 months but he is already 28 1/2 inches long and no longer fits into the snugride. A baby might not weigh 30 lbs until they are a year old but will likely hit the height limit a lot faster. Those extra two pounds add a lot of weight.
