For those of you who have been to both -- Boardwalk or Beach Club?

We're planning on going to Disney in September. We are DVC members and have a reservation at Animal Kingdom Lodge as a backup, but I really wanted to try Boardwalk or Beach Club if we can get a reservation. I might not have a choice, but if you had to choose, which one would it be?

BEACH CLUB! I've never stayed at Boardwalk but my mom owns DVC at Beach Club and we've stayed there 4 years in a row. The pool is amazing.

I'm DVC and have stayed at both. Truthfully, I don't notice much of a difference between the two. The Boardwalk's clown pool freaks me out at bit, but I like that it's slightly closer to Epcot. The Beach Club has got a great pool. You really can't go wrong with either one.

I have been to both --we are actually DVC members too with our home resort being beach club and I would definitely choose Beach Club over Boardwalk! The rooms are nicer and the pool area is so much nicer and you have the sandy bottom pool on one side and the lazy lagoon. As far as location goes, they are pretty equivalent. You are slightly closer to Hollywood at Boardwalk but not enough to matter and Epcot is walking distance from both. I found the shuttle service to be much better at Beach Club too bc there were extra stops for the Boardwalk but not sure why. You have a few more dining options at the Boardwalk but it's an easy walk there from the Beach Club or you can take the little boat across. I say go with the Beach Club!

I have stayed at both and they are both really nice but I prefer the Boardwalk to the Beach Club.

While the Beach Club Villas are literally steps away from EPCOT, the pool at the beach club does not appeal to me at all - it always looks crazy crowded. When Cape May Cafe is open, the lobby is a little loud.

At the BW, the pool area is laid out nicely. It's almost the half way point between EPCOT & Disney Studios. The BW itself is fun. All the villas were recently renovated. The main drawback is they don't have a good quick service/grab n go type food place but there are several restaurants on the BW.

If you are going with young children and plan to utilize the pool a lot, then the posts above are worth paying attention to.

I fully expect Stormalong Bay (pool at Beach & Yacht) to be crazy crowded during September. I think you can count on additional promotions being offered for that time frame that will fill the resorts. This pool is huge and can be a point of frustration for parents trying to keep track of roaming children.

Also keep in mind that Beach & Yacht have convention facilities. This can mean crowded common areas if a group or two are present.

Someone mentioned the "clown" at the Boardwalk pool, and it *is* freaky. I cannot tell you how many times I've heard people say how scared of the pool (the clown inparticular) their children were.

The Boardwalk area is also pretty lively at night. While I like the atmosphere personally, not everyone does.

Whatever works best for your family is the key, so gather up as much information about both resorts as you can to give you the best shot at making the right decision.

We own DVC as well, both are nice but IMO we prefer the Beach Club, especially the pool areaChat Icon
