For those looking for a house
Exactly how long have you been looking? Asking for a co worker who is getting discouraged (she is looking in Westchester).

we were looking since January, so I guess 8 months. we've had our eye on the market though for well over a year.

Not really helpful to your friend, we started looking 2 years ago around Thanksgiving and found a house by Christmas.

Looking since last summer....only more seriously since February or March....really seriously in July. We found a house in August and hope to close by October.

Is she intersted in Putnam? I have a 3 bedroom house that I am considering putting on the market so we can move back to LI. We are right over the Westchester line (Cortlandt Manor/Garrison) area.

We started looking at towns and the kind of home you would get in a town in April. We didn't seriously start to look until August.

We just starting looking for a house about 2-3 months ago in CT. I know how she feels I was getting a little discouraged too, but I keep telling myself prices will go down a little so hopefully by next spring we will get more house for less.
