For moms that are on their 2 or more pregnancy, re: weight gain

I am really nervous about gaining weight this time around. I gained 45lbs with DS and have 20lbs that are still stuck on me. I know that what I ate wasn't the best when I pg the first time so I am hoping not to eat all the ice cream and hot dogs like I did before. I really do not want to gain more than 20-25lbs but I dont know if it is realistic. Any tips?

Well this is my second, I am only about 6 weeks, but I havent gained yet, by not giving in to all my "Junk food" cravings, and by exercising every day. With DD I stopped working out and ate whatever I wanted, and I gained 55 poundsChat Icon ortunately it all came off, but I definitely don't want to go down that road again

I would eat when I was hungry & drank a ton of water. I read that dehyrdation causes morning sickness so I thought I would combat it with water versus eating salty foods. My cravings were mainly eggplant & spinachChat Icon . I used to keep a bag of carrots at work to munch on too.

I wasn't as concerned with weight gain during the second pregnancy - I was too busy running around after a toddler. I only gained 8lbs & was all belly until the last trimester when I gained a few more. After I had Maddie, I weighed less than than before I got pregnant with Joseph.

I'm not one to answer this....with DD I gained 22 lbs total and gave in to all my cravings, ate a ton of junk, didn't excercise all that much.

I am concerned about weight gain and not being able to get my body back once I'm totally done having kids.

I lost all of it except 4 lbs. and at my weigh in I was 7 lbs away.

I gained a lot for my first (lost all but 10)and am nervous about it too! I want to keep it under 30 pounds (which I think is realistic)

Like nrthshrgrl said - I plan on drinking a lot of water. Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger. And I need to have lots of veggies around. My midwife told me to stay away from carbs and concentrate on protein.
