? for mommys of 2- double stroller related

My DS will be 3y-3m. when DC #2 is born ...A friend of mine gave me a really nice Graco double stroller and I took it gladly because I know they can be $$$$ ...Anyway, my infant seat is a light green and blue pattern and the stroller is black (she didnt have an infant seat that matched)....What would you do ?...Use it like that (although I think it would look hideous) or try to buy another infant seat that matches better (which then defeats me saving the $$ on the stroller..) I went on e-bay to see if they sell infant seat covers and they are like $80 ...I know that my DS won't want to stay in the stroller for too long after he's 3 but I'm just imagining the head-ache already walking through the mall, if I don't have one

My infant seat doesn't match my stroller and I could care less. I'm going to be using it for such a short time anyway.

Personally, I wouldn't really care if the car seat matched the stroller or not. By 3 years old though your older one probably won't want to be in the stroller much so you might be better off with a Sit N Stand.

My 3 1/2 year old son loves our sit N stand. He walks most of the time but when he gets tired he loves to sit or stand on the back. As for the infant carrier we used it for about 5 months.

If you are considering spending money on a cover for the carrier, you might be better off getting a sit N stand since the baby is usually in the carrier for only a few months.

Thanks Chat Icon ..A sit and stand is a good idea- It figures, I get a free double stroller and I'll probably end up not being able to use it Chat Icon

Re: ? for mommys of 2- double stroller related

Mine happened to match when I was using a double bc believe it or not, 6 years ago when my oldest was born, navy blue was all that was out there pretty much and I've been using it all ever since. But I would not worry about anything matching at all even if mine mismatched. If I was getting my own new stroller, I'd probably think about it but otherwise, I wouldn't worry. But I see carseat replacement covers all the time on ebay. I cannot believe they are $80!!! You might as well get a new seat. I only know bc I've actually researched the price bc I considered selling my cover on ebay since the seat is a little old at this point. I would keep watching ebay before I'd buy a new seat or watch craigslist for a new double stroller if you really really want matching. But I think (JMO) you'd be better served putting the $$ in your kids savings accounts or buying diapers with the $$. It will so not matter in the end about the matching.

eTA: Just bc I find the $80 shocking - Is it a Graco carseat bc I just looked them up on ebay and they're around $12.99.
