For all the new mommies with babies under 1 year

Do you ever look on the pregnancy board and think that you might want to get pregnant again????? I just read a post about getting a BFP this morning and I remember that being one of the happiest days of my life! Sometimes I feel like my life is so chaotic with a 5 month old and a new puppy, why not just add to the chaos and get pregnant again?!?!?
OF course DH would probably pack up and leave if I told him I were preggo again
Chat Icon and the reality is that I am no where near ready to get pregnant again, but I do get times when I really miss that whole exciting time (not the actual pregnancy so much but the excitement surrounding it)

Anyone ever feel this way or am I crazy?????Chat Icon

Don't worry, you're not alone! My DS is almost 3mths and the same thoughts have gone through my head! And, yes, if DH ever knew he'd probably pack his things, grab the dog, and leave town! Chat Icon

Ideally I'd like to wait until DS is at least 2years old before we get preggo again....but, yes, I do still wonder what it would be like to do it again sooner. Chat Icon

Funny how you can so easily forget the pain and discomfort of pregnancy and/or labor so soon.....it drives my DH nutty that I have "forgotten" what still remains so CLEAR to him. Chat Icon

My son will be 3 weeks tomorrow and I think about it all the time. I don't know if I will end up having another but I miss so much about it. Especially the labor and delivery. As hard and painful as it was the moment I felt him come out and they placed him on my chest was the greatest moment of my life!!!!!!!! I want to relive it over and over again...i'm getting all teary thinking about it.

It's crazy - I used to only want one child but now the urge to have another one is SO STRONG. DD is only 3 months old! When I see preggos on the street I'm like awwww, that was me... but part of that could be the diet that I'm on right now that makes me miss eating whatever I want without guilt... Chat Icon Chat Icon

On the other hand, I don't want 2 babies at the same time. I don't know if I'll have another, but if we decide to DD will be 2 1/2 before we TTC. Of course, we didn't TTC for this one so it may be out of my hands.

Right now I can't imagine being pregnant and dealing with a newborn.

Maybe in a few months when we are all a little more adjusted to peanut!
I liked being pregnant...labor on the other hand was short, but painful, & worth it in the end!

ive thought about it for 2 seconds...but i am not even close to being ready...i think when DD is 1.5 we will start trying again so she will be just over 2 when #2 is born if all works out!

Re: For all the new mommies with babies under 1 year

I am getting the itch real bad. For a while after DS was here I wasn't sure that I would ever be ready to do it again...I had a great pregnancy but being a first time mom was rough and I had silly expectations that he would come out more like a 3 month old...I was not ready for the newborn stage.

But...10 months later I look over at his little face and I want another one so bad. He has brought so much joy to my life and I would love to do it all over again...the pregnancy, the delivery, even the crazy newborn stage.

My son is a month old and I miss being pregnant so very much. The excitement, anticipation, and especially the delivery. Holding him for the first time.... hearing the doctors say "It's a boy." I start crying when I think about it. I miss it all. Chat Icon

Re: For all the new mommies with babies under 1 year

Not even for a second.
I had a pretty easy pregnancy, easy delivery via c-section, easy recovery and DS is such a happy easy going baby. But there is not even a part of me that missing being pregnant. I love having DS here in my arms so much more than in my belly.
I love being able to eat, drink and do whatever I want.
I love fitting into my clothes and not having to buy new clothes all the time.
I love taking care of him and planning things for him.
I love remembering my pregnancy and the "its a boy" moment.
I miss the excitement and anticipation but thats it.
I dont plan on getting pregnant again fro 3 years.
