Flying With Baby & Bottles, Security Question

I know you can take prepared formula through security, but can you take baby bottles with water in them (to add the powder to)? I would like to avoid having to buy bottled water at the airport and just have it already in the bottles like I do now.

I was told yes before hand- but when I got there they threw away and dumped whatever I had...

That's what I figured would happen. That's just so crappy, I mean, it's for the baby! And what about those that use boiled water, I wonder what they do. I guess they just don't go on vacation.

I emptied out my bottles and sippy cups at the gate and bought a bottle of water at a restaurant. It wasn't a problem. You can make powdered formula with tap water, its safe.

That's the thing..the ped. said IF I use tap water, to boil it when she is this young. That's why we just use bottled.

Well you can get some bottled water once you get through security.

The actual travelling is so much easier than the worrying about it is! Trust me! I have taken Noah back and forth to the states 3 times now, twice on my own! Its pretty bloody easy once you are actually doing it! Its the thinking about it that makes it seem tricky.

I used to travel with DS a lot when he was a baby, but of course it wasn't like things are now.

I'm just envisioning how I will fold the stroller, put it in the xray machine, while holding DD, while taking my shoes off and holding DS's hand and putting my other carry on's through the machine. Disaster waiting to happen Chat Icon

Don't worry. Someone there will help you. I think Noah has been held by his fair share of security guards at airports!!!
And airplane staff are always really happy to help!!!

You can have liquids as long as they are 3 oz or less. I had taken two 3 oz bottles on the plane. So you can take a few bottles with 3 oz or less water in them.
