I'm thinking mid October. Last year I wanted to get it in September before I went on my honeymoon and my dr said that was way too early, and that it wouldn't last the whole season.

i guess i have to do this now too... i will ask at my next appt, i know my company does them too cause my boss gets it every year and i believe Duane Reade does too. I will just have to ask about the mercury.

I asked my dr he said I can get it any time... just get mercury free..
cvs has mercury free but they recommend the single dose prefil, not multi - and they wont have single does for a couple more weeks.

flu shot spinoff- if you are getting it this season
I usually get it in mid to late October (I live in the south now and flu season is later) but since I'm due in mid October this year, I'm going to get it this week or next week. I'm trying to find somewhere that has both the flu shot and the pertussis shot so I can get them both at the same time. (I'm 34 1/2 weeks now so I want to get them both very soon.)

I got mine today (at my 34 week appt) upon my doctor's recommendation. She said that the baby will have it in her system for 3 months once she's born, which is good since infants can't get the shot themselves till 6 months old.

My job usually does them in october so i will probably do it then. i have to check with my ob first though being it is so close to my due date.
