I wonder what the other details are. In the article, the school says "it's frustrating" because they can't share all of them.

I think suspension is too much, unless the exact circumstances were really something out of the ordinary. However, I don't think it's crazy to forbid kids from playing like this, especially on school grounds. I agree with the interviews noting that this could have been a learning experience instead.

Please I have kids making threats in my school and its not getting this response...it's soooo subjective and depends on the administration! I think a warning would be sufficient here

I almost hope there's more to it than that, because if there isn't it is just really, really sad. That mom is right when she says that her child is going to be so confused now. Hell, I'd be anxious at work all the time if I got in trouble (equal to a suspension) for something that I had no idea was wrong...

It's similar to when, years ago, that 6 year old boy got suspended for kissing a girl in his class. The reason - sexual harrassment. Very sad.
