Firehouse Hall Rentals?
Anyone know of a firehouse that does hall rentals to the public. I am looking for something nice but fairly inexpensive. WIll cater the food myself so would need a kitchen available.
Btw: looking in the nassau south shore area, preferably wantagh, massapequa.

Most fire dept do rent out. You need to knoe a memeber and the member needs to be at the event. Thats how its been tonthe few things i have been to at a fd.

Wantagh and East Meadow definitely has hall rentals. I have been to a few events there.

Thats not true...Almost all the firehouse in the are have hall rentals. Try calling some of them. They usually have a number on a board outside the firehouse...I will see if I can get a few numbers in that area for you...

Thats why i said how it was for the parties I have been to. A member needed to be present and you need a referral.

The Elks Lodge in Massapequa is nice, they have a kitchen and they cater. Im not sure if you can do your own catering.

the fire dept in north bellmore on newbridge road rents to the publuc without needing a member.

I have a call into the Knights of Columbus on Wantagh Ave. Its a basic space with a bar and kitchen.

I had DS's 1st birthday at a firehouse in Huntington. I know it's not the area you're looking for, but wanted to share my experience.
I went through my SIL's fiance who's a member. It wasn't that easy. I had to fill out an application, but a $1million policy for the day, have him present.... There were limitations on alcohol, times to have it (after 2pm only), etc...
In short, if you don't know someone, you can't rent there.

Yes, I have heard that about some firehouses. And some rent to the public so it makes it difficult to find out which ones do and which ones don't, except if I call every one.

We used the N. Bellmore firehouse on Newbridge Rd for DC's 1st birthday party. No need to be a member.

East Rockaway, Lynbrook, Bellmore, Wantagh, and many more all have firehouses that they rent out to non-members...You need to call them to find out. The best thing to do is go to a firehouse tomorrow morning between 10am-12pm and talk to the members. Most firehouses have drills on Sunday and you have a better chance to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about..

I rented the Vulcan firehouse in lynbrook. It was great! And only $450 for 4 hours. And it included their soda gun Other places wanted $1000.
And they let the kids go on the firetruck
