FHA Mortgage - How long for closing?

If you have an FHA, how long was it between contract signing and closing? And if you don't mind sharing who you have your FHA with, that's be great. TIA!

FHA Mortgage - How long for closing?

I believe it was about 6 weeks. Originally it was with Continental Home Loans, but was switched over to Bank of America before our first payment was due.

FHA Mortgage - How long for closing?

Ours took forever! Our contract was signed 11/18 and we went to closing 4/4. We knew before closing our mortgage was being sold to Wells Fargo.

Re: FHA Mortgage - How long for closing?

I think it really depends on the lender, and the specifics of the deal.

An FHA loan (assuming it's not a 203(k)) shouldn't take any longer than a conventional loan to close. But a lot of the larger commercial banks do take longer. The quickest lenders, in my experience, are the local mortgage banks, such as U.S. Mortgage Corp. and Continental. If there are no issues with the appraisal or title, and both parties are ready to close, these banks routinely close transactions within 30-45 days of being in full contract.

I had a closing yesterday where the buyer was getting an FHA loan. We went to contract at the very end of March, and we probably could have closed a week or so earlier, but had to wait because of the seller's timeline.

probably this. I was the holding factor for our sale. I had a lease to honor first. So we signed the contract in March or so and Closed in end May because my lease wasn't up until July 1. It gave me a whole month to settle in.

Wells Fargo (really was very simple with them, super easy!)
