Faith Hill Speaks Out on CMA Freakout

Faith Hill and her manager are responding to comments about the sour note she appeared to have struck during Monday night's Country Music Association awards, during the female vocalist of the year award presentation.
When Carrie Underwood's name was announced as the winner, Hill, who was nominated in the category, was caught by the ABC camera flailing her arms and apparently shouting "What?" before walking out of camera range.
Hill said Tuesday in a statement released by her publicist: "The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me. For this to become a focus of attention given the talent gathered is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving female vocalist of the year."
Added Hill's manager, Gary Borman: "I've worked with Faith for many years now and the idea that she would ever insult or undermine another artist, let alone another human being's success is absolutely preposterous. Those who know her know that she's incapable of such actions. She was being playful while the nominations were being read and playful after."
The other nominees were Sara Evans, Martina McBride and Gretchen Wilson.
Accepting her award onstage, a tearful Underwood said that two years ago she was just somebody who stayed home and watched the ceremony. Backstage, she told reporters she didn't anticipate winning, and even turned down the offer of her date, Anthony Fedrov, to hold her purse should she win, reports ABC News.

Yeahhhhh.........I'm not buying it.
Not convincing for me........and obviously....What else is she gonna say after being "caught"?. That she was kidding!! Couldn't really see her come out and say "yeah, I meant my reaction. I should've won".

A woman with a deaf son wrote in that she read her lips and before the winner was announced she said I better
fu-king win.
I totally believe that..that was no joke--she just got snagged!

Not buying it.....not that she nec. thinks poorly of Carrie, but she must have heard somewhere that she was going to win the award. That was total shock she expressed...

Ya right. I heard they were announcing the winner right after her performance, so she assumed she was going to win. She was backstage and didnt realize cameras were on her at the time.

I watched it several times today - there is no way she was not serious about it. She is trying to cover her a$$ because she got caught.
I think this changed a lot of people's opinion of her. I always thought she seemed so nice but she was obviously as fake as the rest of them.

i totally agree - there is no way she was kidding - who would joke like that at an awards show anyway? Even if it were a "joke" - it would still come across as being a sore loser!

Does anyone really believe this excuse? I think this statement makes her look even worse. What's funny about portraying a sore loser? All this attention on her takes away from the real winner. I'm not buying it Faith
