And I can count like 5 adults who have shoes on??

I thought this policy was strictly enforced?

Did it change??

I think it is more for the kids not wearing shoes. It is a safety thing for them...

Ugh, I was there not too long ago and saw a mother AND daughter both wearing shoes. It really annoyed me. How could you not noticed that you're the only people wearing shoes in there? To me that is super rude. If you can't comply with removing your shoes and you child's then go to an outdoor playground.

They do have a no shoes policy for EVERYONE in the play area, and you must have socks. That bugs me when people wear their nasty shoes in there!

Other than safety there are little kids in there and some that don't walk so having germs and dirt on the floor from your shoes they will now be touching there hands which go in there mouth.
The rule is for everyone and it annoys me when people don't listen.

Yes the rule is for all..no shoes. You do have to walk in the play area to get to the benches in order to sit and take your shoes off though.

What annoys me more is when there is a green snot nose kid in there..I'd rather that kid have his shoes on, and have a clean nose. That is what is really inconsiderate!

I always take them off then walk in. What's the point of the no shoes policy if you are wearing them on the play area carpeting to walk in?

I take mine off outside of the area and then walk in with my socks on and put my shoes in the cubby.

Either way, last night was the first time I saw so many people with shoes on. I also think some people were there just to relax and wait while their wives were shopping.

I also take off my shoes before I walk in. Agreed that it's kinda pointless if you walk in then take them off. They really should put a bench at the entrance though so people with bad balance don't have to kill themselves trying to get their shoes up while standing. That is pretty dumb on the mall's part.

They also have a no food/drink policy that the Latte mammas can't seem to adhere to either. Chat Icon
People really just don't think the rules apply to them. And they are raising their kids to be the same way. When we go, we follow the rules. I shelled out $12 for a 3 pack of socks from the nearest store the first time I went b/c I didn't know the rules and had flip flops on. But i wanted my kid to play, so I followed the rules. And I think calling the poor guy that has to remind people of the rule a sock nazi is really rude. He is just doing his job.
ETA: And I have seen that poor guy tell people multiple times to remove their shoes and they just blatantly ignore him. Chat Icon

Yes, down by Sears. It's pretty cool, made out of this firm foam.
