Evite thank yous yay or nay?
We always have our dd's birthday in the the backyard because we have a huge family. We prefer house parties. It's only family and a few close friends. I send evites every year. This year I noticed I can send thank you through evite as well. Do you think this is acceptable to do?

Can you personalize them for each family?
I hate mass produced thank yous. I would rather a text, a call or nothing.

For me, it is a yay. I feel it is a great way and you don't waste paper. One year for a small party for DS, we sent a little 'thank you' video personalized to each of his friends.

I think that everything is going to be digital soon. I feel like why waste the trees with snail mail when you can use something digital. I used to love stationary and invitations but when you think about what a waste mail is - between the trees wasted and the pollution from all the mail trucks, it really makes so much more sense to go digital. Not to mention it's a hell of a lot easier.
OP I love evite thank you's! Definitely the way to go.

I agree. My whole wedding was a "green" theme. Although I have two family members who are mail carriers lol

I've gotten online thank yous and I've sent them. I love it! No paper to throw away, no stamp to buy.

I must admit that I find printed invites & thank you cards more special than digital but i'm fine with evite thank you. You are still taking the time out to thank people which I'm sure they appreciate. I can't even tell you how many classmate parties we've been to where we don't even get a verbal thank you from the child.

I look at it this way, any thank you is fine.
I have gone to events like weddings and communions where we gave a substantial gift and gotten NO thank you at all.
I don't expect a thank you from a kid's/classmate birthday party.
But if I am going to your wedding and giving you a hefty check, or even a kid's communion or baptism, some kind of acknowledgment would be nice.
Even if it's just an email or whatever

I agree with this.
As for kid parties I think a favor is a thank you for coming to a party, therefore no other thank you card required JMO
