Eternity band ladies, question for you...

my normal size is 5 3/4, so my jewler ordered the ring (no diamonds set yet) I went to try it on, it was kind of loose, no to a point that the ring will fall off, but it was sliding a little.. and my jewler said after the stones are set and the ring is polished, it will go up 1/2 size bigger... so he suggested that he'll order me a 5 1/4 to set the stones, after it's done and polished, it will be 5 1/2

... now, my fingers are very finicky.. depending on the temperture, foods I eat, it swells up a little.. so I am afraid that 5 1/2 might be too tight during the summer months.

what should I do? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Me too. You want a little give if your fingers tend to swell and they will, especially, during and maybe after the Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Eternity band ladies, question for you...

I won't be wearing my e-ring with the wedding ring, due to the shape of my e-ring.

so I guess a little fitted is not so bad.. just have to get through the hot swelling summer months....

Re: Eternity band ladies, question for you...

personally i would rather have it a little loose (not to the point of falling off) then tight. Mine fit me perfectly when i tried it on but during the summer months or if my hands are a little swollen my ring feels a little fitted at times and it really bothers me---I wish mine was a tiny bit bigger some times JMO.

I'm not sure how much your fingers swell. When you say they're a little finicky, it sounds like they can swell often. I didn't know fingers swelled depending on food unless it was an allergic reaction. I would stick to having the final size be your true size.

My jeweler wanted me to go up to a 1/4 size larger for the wedding band. When I first had them, both were a little loose, but now that I've gained weight they're tighter but I can still wear them in the summer. I know some woman couldn't wear their rings when they were pregnant. They wind up buying another ring.

Re: Eternity band ladies, question for you...

it swell if I am hot, or had a lot of salty foods.

.. so now I am freaking out a little bit, I don't want to have a ring that's too tight! My jewler is at Tri-County, so they are not open today

buy a fake (silver, costume, Avon, etc.) ring in that size and wear it for a while and see how it feel...

Re: Eternity band ladies, question for you...

when i changed my e ring setting, he changed the size from 4 3/4 to 4 1/2-which was better bc its always sliding

he made my eterntiy band slight bigger.
