Early Labor Question

I figured I'd ask the experienced mommies on the boards! I started having contractions about 8-11 minutes apart with my belly getting tight on Friday. I called the dr. and they said that I was in early labor. Monitor the contractions. They could go away, they could progress quickly, and/or they could last for hours/days. As the day went on I started getting cramps, but not as much belly contracting.

Then yesterday I had a ton of cramps but not as consistent belly cramping.

Today, I have had diarrhea (TMI) this morning, belly is hard (mostly at the bottom but sometimes all over), a LOT of pressure, and a ton of cramping.

Can anyone tell me what is going on??? I am so confused? Am I ACTUALLY in early labor?

Re: Early Labor Question

Your signs today sound like labor but mine was pretty unusual (start to finish in about 4 hrs and I didn't realize I was actually in labor until I nearly gave birth on my toilet 45-minutes before he was born). The diarrea and pressure sounds like you're there - or almost there. Are you timing contractions today? My pains were low too (which is why I didn't think it was labor)

Good luck!!

No, I stopped timing contractions b/c watching the clock was driving me insane. I know they are not even close to 5 minutes apart and I am not in serious pain.

Re: Early Labor Question

ok so i am not as experienced as some of the moms on here since i have only been through labor once, however -
the same thing happened to me and went on for about a week before my water broke. My Dr said it was signs of early labor but dont bother going to the hosptial unless the contractions get bad enough where you cant talk through them or cant catch your breath

Re: Early Labor Question

This happened to me for a few weeks - I would have regular contrations for hours and then they would just stop. A day or 2 later start up again.
I hope you are in full blown labor soon!

Still the same. Cramping coming and going, contractions on and off. Very frustrating!! Chat Icon But, I know in reality it could be a few more hours....or a few more days. I just wanna meet my little peanut!!
