DS's First Birthday... how much would you expect to pay for...

... Someone to come barbecue for a couple of hours, if they provide the burgers, dogs, buns, chicken, condiments, ice, marinade and sauerkraut. So, I'm paying for the food and service for him and his teenage son to help him. I'm guessing we will have about 75 people and we're supplying the grill at the park. He gave me a per person amount, but it sounds high. And he's a friendly coworker of mine. Also... do I tip if he's getting all the money? It's not like he works for anyone or anything...

On a separate note... what would u pay for a 45 minute or so Mickey character meet n greet at the party and a snow cone machine?

TIA!

I priced it out and it started at like $20 pp. But they supplied the grill. We're doing a BBQ for DDs birthday and decided to just do it ourselves to save the money. We'll have two BBQs going so it shouldn't be too bad.

Re: DS's First Birthday... how much would you expect to pay for...

if they are cleaning up and serving i would say about $20 per adult and $10 per child under 12 and children under 2 are free

as for the character for 45 min i would say about $50 (i could be so off, because we got ours for 2 hours, but they did face painting, balloons, games)

would i tip, yes.

Re: DS's First Birthday... how much would you expect to pay for...

For dd's first birthday we used Mike Thomas catering and they bbq'd. I think it included hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and sausage and some various salads and it was like 10/pp and the food was great! We added ribs as well and that brought the price up a couple of dollars but well worth it.
