DS is sick for the first time... part 2
ok so now he is unable to keep ANYTHING down; no juice, no formula, no pedialyte, no water. He has not had a pee diaper since this morning and has not pooed in 2 days.
When do I start worrying about dehydration.

If he can not keep anything down, I would call the Dr. It can happen real fast in babies.

she (the ped) told me to try diluted formula first. I stopped that last night. His mood is Ok, just a little sleepy from lack of sleep.

I had to take my son to the ER because he wasn't holding anything down and they told me to get rid of the formula right off the bat.. Poor baby.. Does he eat?

My Dr said that DD had to have pee 3x in a 24 hour period. If she didn't we had to call them back.

I hope DS feels better soon!! I would definately get an appt with the ped. if he isnt holding anything down. I think the ped had told me 1 ounce an hour of any liquid is acceptable. Good luck!!

honestly..Aly had this last year on St Pats' day....she started throwing up after lunch. By 5-6pm I was taking her to the ER because she could not keep anything down and she was very lethargic....all she did was sit in my lap.
They gave her Zofran (1/2 tab) and within 15 minutes she was taking Powerade and acting like herself

The window for dehydration they gave me was 6 hours...If I were you I'd get an appt with the ped and if they can't see you right away I go to the ER at some point today or this evening if it doesn't change.

Thanks everyone. He is better. I'd call it about 80%. We have to go slow on re-introducing the foods, and we are on soy right now b/c the milk was making him make more phlegm. He is soooooo much better & happier...see my post...link
