DS broke out in hives today...Ped. Allergist recommendation please?
At first I thought it was poison ivy but it was spreading so quicly all over him and once it reached his face, I drove him to PM Pediatrics where they said it was hives (to what I have no idea ). So I am thinking about getting him tested especially since DH and his side of the family have a million allergies. Any recommendations? We live in selden so somewhere here in Suffolk would be great. TIA

Just want to offer some hugs (I have an allergist but only in Nassau so that won't help you). I had that happen to DD#1 this past February. She woke up one morning covered head to foot in Hives with facial swelling. We also ended up at PM Peds who gave her more bendaryl and steroids.
I hope they find out the cause quickly. Ours was rough. They found out it wasn't virus related pretty quickly - but it took months to get the list of her allergies. We saw 2 different allergists. FM me if you need any support or have questions

I take DS to Patricia Nolan in Ronkonkoma. She is very good with him, and I feel she is very knowledgeable about pediatric allergy issues.
She's part of Queens-Long Island Medical group, so they take practically every insurance.

We use Dr. Mayer also! My oldest son has peanut and tree nut as well as seasonal allergies so we have been there several times and always happy.
