Is he? Does he share an office with Dana Brenner? I made an apointment with her after reading a few postings that she is good. I am in Suffolk County and my doctor at Suffolk OBGYN just sent me a letter that she is leaving. I hear the other doctors there are nothing great so I am searching for someone new.

Any info you can tell me on Dana Brenner. It seems like her practice isn't busy when I called because there was so much availability. I am trying to have a baby and want to make sure she is a great doctor and has delivered a lot of babies before.

I too go to Suffolk OB/GYN and I also had Mindy Shaffran as my doctor. I was upset she was leaving however, my friend Denise (who just had her baby.....little Kayla for those of you who saw her post) also goes to Suffolk OB/GYN and highly recommends a few of the doctors there. I'm really happy with the practice as a whole (I've been a patient tehre for years) and although I'm sad Shaffran is leaving I did make an appt. with Dr. Richter later this month. She's suppose to be really good. Also, my friend said Dr. Marshak and a few others are really good as well. Good luck finding a new doctor whether at Suffolk OB/GYN or another place.

Oh thanks, that's great to know! I also see that a Dr. San Ramon at Suffok OBGYN is written up in the TOP DOCTORS book.

Maybe I will try the two you said. The one you are going to is who your friend uses? I am/was Dr. Shaffran's patient too. She is leaving to go work in IVF.

Hi Again,

She saw a few of the doctors throughout her pregnancy but she did recommend Marshak and Richter to me because I feel more comfortable going to a woman doctor. Dr Petraco delivered her baby (by C-Section) and she thought he was absolutely wonderful as well. The only doctor in the practice that she was not at all fond of was Sterlacci. Hope this helps!!

Sure, no problem. I am not seeing her until the 24th though so I hope that is not too far off for you. They had appts. before then but I wanted to wait and see what happens with this cycle first. Anyway, I will let you know for sure.

Are you pregnant now? I am not planning on going for a while, unless I become pregnant. We are having some fertility issues.

I just recently had my yearly exam with Shaffran and she sent me too a fertility specialist.

I know San Roman works out of the Suffolk Office for Suffolk OBGYN. I have heard good things. I see Dr. Strittmatter at Suffolk OBGYN out of the same office. I think he is great!!!

Hey Kerri,

Not pregnant now but I hope to be by the end of the year. Shaffran had helped me with some fertility issues a few years back (I was on Clomid) however, I stopped because it became to stressful. I've changed my eating habits and have been losing weight so I want to see if that has a positive effect on my fertility without having to go the drug route. If I am not pregnant by the end of the year I will look into other ways to help my fertility. Guess we'll see what happens!!

If its San Roman from Mineola at RSofNY... I absolutly had the most horrible experience with him, and after alking out of his office, I started histerical crying. He made me feel so uncomfortable and like a horrible person. I also felt like I knew more about genetics then he did after reading so much about it.

Everyone has differenct experiences with different Dr.s, but if you travel over to the Infertility board there are some pretty stern threads about this office in general.

Actually it's a different San Ramon. I hear there are a few of them. I was talking about the San Ramon in the Port Jefferson Station office. I was really looking for info though on Dr. Dana Brenner who I think shares his office.
