Driving from NY to FL - Stopping Point
My sister and I will be driving from NY to FL (Fort Myers Beach) the Thursday before President's week with 5 kids (ages 2 to 10). We plan to leave Thursday morning from Staten Island and drive about half way and stop to sleep. I was wondering if anyone has done this and can recommend a good stopping point/hotel. I have done some research and read that Florence, SC is a good place to stop. Just looking for any input. Thanks!

Florence is a good place to stop. There is a hotel and I can't remember the name of it. I want to say homewood suites or something like that. It's a Hilton that we've stopped at a few times but it was quite a few years ago. I remember it being very clean and comfortable.
ETA: it was right off of I-95. I googled and this was it: home2 suites

We usually try to make it to Savannah, Georgia the first night so that our second day is much shorter.
