Don't know where to post but I'm worried about a friend

She is 25 weeks PG and has been having pains. Her doctor told her this morning that it was contractions and that she needs to take it easy.

She just left work in a panic because she was having them just now.

She has really struggled to get PG, 5 years to convince her DH, 2 years of trying, went on Clomid and then she had a miscarriage this year so it's been a really rough road for her.

I'm freaking out right now for her.

has anyone gone through this? I'm so worried for her.Chat Icon

I would tell her to lay down, keep her feet elevated and drink as much water as humanly possible. If she continues to feel contractions, I would time then and call the OB. And if there are no contractions but there is any type of bloody discharge when she goes to the bathroom, I'd call the OB then too. Many positive vibes and prayers to your friend!! Re: Don't know where to post but I'm worried about a friend

I had contractions starting at 28 weeks, but they never caused any cervical changes so it wasn't considered labor. I did get the terbutaline shot twice and my FFN came back negative twice. I ended up making it to 39 weeks for my scheduled c/s for breech delivery. Just tell her to take it easy and drink a LOT of water. Mine always got worse if I was dehydrated or if I was up and about too much. If they start feeling any different don't hesitate to call or go in, I went in a few times and they always said it was the right thing to do if I wasn't sure.

oh, I should add that sometimes, cramping can be caused by something as stupid as mild dehydration.... so tell your friend to drink extra water

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon i just went through this about 7 weeks ago. I was 24w5days and thought i was feeling contractions called the OB they sent me right to L&D because it was after hours and the ob was at the hospital.

i went in and was indeed haiving full on contractions 2 min apart. they didnt call it labor like an above poster said because i had no cervical changes. the Terbutaline shots didnt work to stop the contractions my FFN came back Neg. as well. They started me on Magnesium Sulfate and i was in the hospital for 6 days. i got steriod shots for the babys lungs and then was sent home with a Terbutaline Pump and was put on modified bedrest... i still have contractions daily and am being monitored.

they are just expecting that i will have the baby any time after 36 weeks now!

many prayers for her please keep us posted! Chat Icon

thank you for the prayers and positive thoughts!!!!

she called back and she is ok. the dr told her to rest, drink lots of water, and to watch the timing of her contractions.

I am so relieved she is okay!
