don't go to CVS pharmacy... vent
DS and i were both very sick a couple of weeks ago. went to the dr, then to the pharmacy to pick up Rx.
they told me that the insurance didn't cover my son. so i paid cash and called the insurance co. can you believe that CVS NEVER even submitted a request for my son's medication!!!!!!
what if i didn't have the money?!
how careless
i'm never going back to them, again. i'll be taking my Rx's to walgreens, they're across the street

CVS is horrible.
One time CVS pharmacy by us in MD gave me the wrong number of pills It's a good thing I counted.
Another time they had a glitch in their computer and it said I only had 1 more refill when I actually had 2. They didn't budge and I had to call my Dr. to call in another prescription.
Now I have Cigna insurance with DH's job and I do the teledrug program by mail. It is so nice.

After 2x going to a CVS and getting the wrong medications (I looked it up myself and figured out they gave me the wrong stuff) I stopped going to them.
I goto Stop and Shop pharmacy now and they are MUCH better. Faster, friendlier, have more knowledge, etc.

I hate a specific CVS - North Babylon.
They gave my mother the wrong medication twice - and ARGUED with her about it. She had oodles of proof, the pharmacist never once made eye contact and practically dismissed her.
I HATE NORTH BABYLON CVS. The pharmacist there is a miserable *****.

For some reason when I first got DSs insurance card he was -04, but he should have been -03.
Do you know how many times we told them this? How many times they got it wrong? How many times we had to wait for them to run it again? Um, did you look to see if there was another card #?
I agree - I go to what ever supermarket i'm in that day. So much quicker and easier. Plus, I get to spend an extra $100 on food while I wait.

CVS is HORRIBLE! I actually called their corporate hq's once because they screwed up royally and they took action agaisnt the pharmacisit.
When I first starting doing my infertility treatments, I had a script filled for my HCG injection at CVS. Now timing with treatments is CRUCIAL, you miss the window and a whole cycle is in the toilet and you have to wait another month. Well, it came time to "trigger" with the HCG, I take it to my RE's office to get the injection and you know what CVS gave me??? A VIAL OF WATER!  I went ballistic on the pharmacist... Thankfully, my RE's office had some extra meds and I was able to go forward that cycle, but let me tell you I made a scene at the pharmacy. Just recently they gave me the wrong meds again (for something else). Total carelessness.

I will NEVER go to a chain pharmacy to get anything that isn't OTC. I don't trust them to make sure there are no interactions, etc.
I know they have actual pharmacists that work there but I still just don't trust them.
Plus, its another opportunity to shop locally

I have had numerous issues with CVS in general and also with one specific pharmacist at my local CVS. DH and I just made a decision to have all out rx's transferred to Walgreens

I just started going to Wal-mart
so cheap!
with my insurace I paid $41 for 5 rxs and my Doc said 1 was suppose to be $50-$150

I had the same problem at Walgreens on Hempstead Tpke and Newbridge Road (after a long 2 days of being in the hospital). I ended up just taking back my prescriptions to another pharmacy and will not even shop in a Walgreens now.
PS - Don't you love how the take all of your info, phone number included, and never bother to let you know what's going on before you come in to pick everything up?!

Stop & Shop, Target and Rite Aid in Medford are all very good, although Rite Aid is a bit slow.
I can't honestly see why people shop in CVS. Everything's so expensive.

Stop and Shop called me on Saturday to tell me it's going to be an extra day to get a script in. First thing DH said to me was "if that was CVS, they never would have called, they would have told you when you went there to pick it up"

I went to a CVS to get a zpack right after I went to the doctor, it was right next door. They asked me if I wanted to wait for it.  um, yeah, does it look like I feel well enough that I don't need it right now? It is not like you need to count out pills.
They made me wait, and wait and wait, so I purposefully coughed, and coughed and coughed until one of the people working there got annoyed I was spreading my germs and pushed the prescription through.

I love Walgreens.
I would like to go to Stop and Shop but none around here have a pharmacy anymore - and I know because went to 3 after I had my tooth extracted, while I was in pain  We shoulda planned that beforehand!

Well, this is the killer..there are very few drugs that require any mixing, etc. so really all they do is COUNT and it always takes at least an hour..I second the mom and pop pharmacy..I've NEVER waited to get anything...

i HATE HATE HATE HATE cvs............ i had a problem with them recently and was treated like crap for something that was THEIR fault.... i wrote to the customer care center and they didnt do sh*t for me.... so i am never using them again. i use VANCO pharmacy in commack now... LOVE them. they remember you after seeing you once and you get your meds within like 5 minutes at most.. highly recommend them.

I go to two privately owned pharmacys, no chains. I find they have much better service. I have heard some bad things about CVS.

I always go to Target, and they are wonderful. I rarely have to wait more than 15 minutes or so, and the pharmacist knows me and my whole family. He helped me find a prescription I needed ASAP at another pharmacy when he didn't have it in stock.
It may be a huge chain, but I don't feel like that at the pharmacy there.
