Dog Shampoo Recs

I want to buy a good shampoo for Dottie, so I can bathe her in between groomings. My sweetie gets a little stinky.

Thanks!!

Is it her body or does she get tear stains?

Re: Dog Shampoo Recs

I think it's her body. It's just that dog smell. Nothing bad.
I also think it's made a little worse because it's been wet/muddy out.
We can't fully bathe her yet until her stiches (from her spay) come out.

OOH then I recommend getting "Quick Bath" It is like large cushy baby wipes for the dog when it can;t get wet. Petco & PetSmart have them & they take out any nasty scents. I also keep them handy to get the mud off their paws on rainy days.

Thanks - that's a great idea.

What kind of shampoo do you use when you do bathe your dog/s?
Are there brands better for dogs than others?

I have 4 very different kinds of dogs, so it depends. Pyxie (Chinese Crested) I use face wash on her b/c she has no body fur & breaks out in blackheads easily & I use a silk shampoo for her hair. Bruno (chihuahua) has short healthy fur, so I use four paws puppy. Fascinus (pug) has sensitive skin so I use four paws oatmeal shampoo. Loki ( Shiba Inu) has a think coat, so I use extra shine for him (I can;t remember the brand but I can look at the bottle when I get home).

I use the four paws oatmeal. I think it leaves him super soft.

Re: Dog Shampoo Recs

We use one that is lavender scented, from Target. We bought 2 huge bottles a while ago, but now I notice that Target no longer has that brand. It is mild, but I like the scent better than any from the pet stores. If you want something that smells pretty, try Target. They have other brands now and those smelled nice, too. I checked them out in the store.

We use one called "Gentle Puppy Shampoo" -- we bought it at Petco.

how old is dottie? my vet recomended not bathing the dog that often. we have a puppy and he smells. supposedly he will outgrow the puppy smell.
