Does anyone use an automatic (timed) feeder for their dog?

We want to start feeding Cooper a 3rd meal (a small one) in the middle of the day. So many people have reccommended we do this, so we finally jumped on the wagon to head in this direction. We ordered him an automatic feeder, but I'm curious as to how he'll respond to it.

Does anyone have an experience??

Yup I used to have one for Otis when he was a pup. No problems we always came home the bowl was empty and the timer always went off when we set it.
