does anyone take met and is not insulin resistant?

I am not IR, but because I have high testosterone levels, so the RE has me on met. But I have been doing some reading and have read that met shouldn't be used if there is no IR...

Should I stop taking met? I stopped taking it once cycle because I had an HSG and clomid didn't do anything for me that cycle.

Lauren - I'm not technically IR (when i was test, I was just barely borderline). I've been taking it for just over a year now. It was prescribed by my OBGYN, and my RE wanted me to continue it. It did definately help regulate my cycles to a certain extent. Let's just say they became more regular than what they were.

When we were told next step was IVF, I asked if I should continue with the Met, and was told that I should because it will help with the egg quality.

I was not IR and I was on Met for 3 months before I got pregnant. I didn't have any side effects at all, my body adjusted well to it. I stopped taking it after they saw the baby's heartbeat at 6w5d.

The RE discussed met with me and had me do an IR test and it came back good so I wasnt put on it (This is when we were still on the Clomid regiment)..I don't think testosterone was an issue in my case though- I was always curious if it would have helped me to be successful anyway though....
