So if there is no pain during urination but lower left pain in the back that is probably not a kidney infection, right?

A kidney infection is usually a UTI that has spread to the kidneys the symptoms are much more severe and would probably have you running to the doctor.

Oh yea!!!!! I had kidney stones and man oh man it is painful the first sign was blood in the urine and then pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on antiobitics that supposedly gave me UTI- that I never had symptoms for and then 1 day saw blood and the pain followed I had to go to the emergency room!!!
