Does anyone get sinus infections?

Last week I posted that I had terrible head pain and I went to the DR and he put me on a steriod antibiotic because he said I had some pressure behind my ear...

I felt 1000 times better and then yesterday I started to get this terrible head pain again - dizzy, nauseus -

So I called the DR and he told me to take Advil Cold and Sinus....and I do have to say I feel better.

Does anyone get sinus pain or infections and what do you do for them? This is the first time I have ever had anything like this (except for a few years ago when I had miggraines that have stopped)...or maybe these are migraines?

I feel better today, but just am curious as to what you all do with sinus pain, headaches, etc.../

i get them, I take over the counter meds, and if they dont work, i go to the doctor who gives me something stronger. I use a nasal spray when I feel them coming on...

They COULD be migraines too.
Sometimes when I get migraines they feel like a very intense sinus headache- and my nose runs too.
I have learned that it has nothing to do with your sinuses -it's just a symptom of the migraine.
However, I can always tell when mine is a migranie because I get auras before hand (I lose partial vision in one eye for a while) and I get VERY sick to my stomach and throw up for hours.
If you never had these auras or nausea with your migraines though it would be hard to tell the difference between a bad sinus headache and a migraine sometimes.

I get them-- and I usually just take OTC stuff. It also helps to put a hot washcloth on my face/head and steam helps to relieve some of the pressure.

I get them monthly, I have a script for Alegra D, Clariton D (OTC) is the same and it makes a big difference. I get double ear infections with them also and so not fun.

i get them all the time - and have been all the possible meds to get over them

the last one they put me on a steroid and antibiotics - the antibiotics would make me dizzy and nausious and learned it was a possible side effect

but if the pressure is still there in your face - espaiclaly cheeks, i get dizzy because it is moving into my ears and it throws off the equilibirum in my ears - usally go back to the doctor at that point

Holy crap, I just went to the doctor because I have such severe vertigo and a fever. He said I have a sinus infection, gave me Z-pack (antibiotic) and anti-vert for the vertigo. I'm so dizzy and out of it that I feel like I can't even function!


That's how I feel - so dizzy - today I am better but yesterday was unreal! I hope you feel better!

Take good care of yourself. I got my first one this summer, I was out of commission for 2 months. I never had a sinus infection before, so I had no idea what was going on. I let it go too far that I had to be put on an antibotic IV drip. The infection spread to my spine and spleen.
