Are you thinking about it as a career? My SIL is one, with a school district in NJ. On the one hand, the flexibility she has is great, especially since she has little kids. But she also gets laid off pretty much every year.

it was just a thought- something different than what i'm doing now... but i was curious to see what kind of training is involved.
she gets laid off that often though?  jeeshj

I know she had to get a master's.
While being laid off is a huge pain for her, she always finds work pretty easily. I might be wrong, but I think that the demand for OTs is pretty strong at the moment.

One of my best friends is a OT. She lives in Florida. I am sure she would answer your questions. She loves it, I think her speciality is Hand Therapy.
