For the Jan-April session. The new baby will be here the end of Jan and I don't know if I will be able to bring him back and forth to soccer and then also to preschool.

Do you think I should just wait until the summer?

I just feel bad that he will be stuck in the house all dayChat Icon

I think you'll still be able to take him. You'll probably be glad to have a reason to get out of the house.

Agreed. Plus maybe it would be nice to have something to do with him that keeps some focus on him (from his persepective) while you have the new baby that's getting a lot of attention?

I agree with the PP

It will be a good outlet for him too - something different then just hanging with the new baby KWIM? Chat Icon

Is it indoor soccer? If so, I think go for it.

Having just had #2, I would say wait until summer too. It depends on how you are, but it was hard for me in the beginning getting used to dragging them both around. I'm still not really back to normal yet.

Coming from a mom of 2, I would wait. The first month or two it was hard for me to get out of the house and manage the 2 of them. Bringing him to preschool would be enough time out for him.

I would wait. It will be too much on you and you don't want the $$ to go to waste.
Also, check with the program because I was going to sign Leah up for one when I was preggo, but the parents have to participate which I was not able to do being 9 months preggo!

Me too! I know I wouldn't be able to make all the practices with a newborn.

Re: Do you think I should forget about signing Andrew up for Soccer...

I would wait. My girlfriend tried coming to soccer with her newborn and her 2 year old and it was really hard for her to make it out of the house some days.

Also, which one are you considering??? We go to Sport Time in Bethpage and it has a big indoor hockey rink so it's kind of cold in there in the winter. Not bad if you are running around but if you aren't, like your newborn, it would be chilly.

Thanks everyone. I am going to wait. My Mom said she will bring to Library Programs too and maybe when it gets a little warmer out I can bring him to open play places so he can get out.

Thanks again for the helpChat Icon

Trust me...wait.

Andrew will have MANY years of soccer ahead of him and it is not easy getting out with 2 kids, especially with a newborn who might need to eat, nap, whatever... at the time you might need to be at soccer.

See, I was always the type to just go, pack the baby and go. So I would sign him up. At that age, the babies are so portable and with such long winters, it will be good to get out and about.

I would wait. Its right in the worst time of the winter.

I could not see myself dragging myself out with DS and a NB.

this is my feelings. when DS was first born I still did everything. It can be hard at times but I wouldn't not sign DD up for something just because there is a newborn.
