I agree completely!!!! It can be so hard to hang around people like that becuase I really cannot deal with the negativity so I try to limit firendship with anyone who is so negative and critical of others. I honestly think people like this are suffering inside.

YUP!! They are just overgrown bullies and all bullying behavior stems from insecurity.
Understandable to a degree in kids but very sad in adults.

DH aunt's feel it necessary to comment and criticize EVERYONE. The other day while on the phone with my MIL (talking about what her sisters had to say about so and so) I said to her "do they not like themselves so much that they feel better after ripping others apart?
she totally agreed. people like that are insecure and as deep as a puddle

you just summed up one of my friends to a T- she always has something negatitive to say about everyone- but I know she is super insecure
we catch her in lies all the time- she tells me that she makes $250K a year
but one day DH went to the ATM with her ( they are going to a bar) and she was freaking b/c her $600 paycheck didn't clear!
