Do you know if there is any talk of interest rates rising (or if they recently rose)?
Does anyone know if interest rates recently rose, and if there is any talk of them possibly rising again? I want to open a CD and am debating on waiting or not. Thanks

Rates are probably going to go up slightly but they really don't know for sure yet.
How long of a CD were you looking to open? 6 months? 5 years?

Anywhere from 6 mths to one year ideally.

You can get 5-7mo CDs in the 4% and up range. I think by then rates will probably be higher and I would look to lock longer term.

Ditto the PP. I wouldn't lock for a year CD just yet either. I think the FED is going to keep rates the same, so they most likely won't change much at all on the CD rates.

I opened a 6 month CD account at 6%... Last time it matured it was at 3.25%... Now I'm seeing offers for around 4%.
