Do you follow the rules?????
So, I'm just curious, when you're asked to do something a certain way at work or to not do something, do you oblige, or do you secretly think the rules don't apply to you? Because if someone asks me to do something a certain way for work or to not do something, I basically respect that and I cannot understand NOT doing that.

That's funny.....because all the people under me always laugh because I tend to stick to my way of things!!
My bosses said no more pins (broaches) to be worn on our lapels....I went bigger!!
They say I have to wear skirt to direct a funeral....well sometimes when it is single digits....it's to darn cold!! Make me go home & change!!!

At work, I follow the rules. I'm the boss in my office and if I don't follow the rules of the owners of the company, how can I justify asking my employees to do what I ask of them when I'm not doing the same?

In life- yes.
At work- sometimes. Last year especially, I felt that I was asked to do things that were contrary to common sense and my my life and that of the teachers I was working with, harder. And since no one checked on me, I did things the way I wanted to do them.

Yes, I basically follow the rules. If I strongly feel that something can be better if the rules are modified, I will mention it.

At Work I do what I have to do to get the job done fast and correctly. If that means breaking some minor rules that. Most times I follow them and if I do break them it is just b/c I need to make short cuts to get things done in a timely manner.
