Do you/ Can you wash hand knitted blankets?
I have alot of beautiful hand knitted blankets, but am afraid to put them on Michael because they aren't washed.
Can I wash them? What have you guys done?

Do you use detergent? And I'd hang dry right?

I knitted myself a blanket...and yes, I washed it with all the other baby clothing. I did not put it in the dryer though.

Hi, not a parent, but I have crocheted baby blankets & washed them first. I hand washed in baby detergent & layed it on a towel to dry.
If it is tightly knit & doesn't seem fragile, you can probably put it in the machine.

I've also heard that you can put it inside a pillowcase to wash without exposing it to the agitator in the machine.

I actually through them in the wash - delicate wash and you can then hang them somewhere to dry.
You can also handwash it with alittle woolite and air dry.
