Disney Peeps- Whats the best time of the year to go?
DH and I want to take DD to Disney sometime this year. My MIL was thinking it might be nice to go around Labor Day weekend- since the southern schools are in sessions, and its right before the schools up here go back.
Thoughts? Will it be too busy?

The Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party is great...not super crowded because school just gets back in sesson and the way they decorate is incredible !

We just got back and I have been in the summer, spring and fall. After speaking with the employees, they all seem to think the best time(as far as crowds go) is Early Sept, between thanksgiving and xmas and feb. I l really liked October as well.

I grew up in Florida and spent TONS of time at Disney... from my experience it always seemed the best time to go was right when kids went back to school--end of September, early October. Less crowds and not as hot as going in the middle of Summer.

We were in FL (Orlando/Kissimmee and Miami) in December last year and it was COLD. So cold for our families that live there that they kicked on the heat. Luckily we brought DS coat. Or I would have had to bundle him up or buy one down there. They told us the best time to go to the parks is early May and mid Sept and October. Anything after that you are risking the weather being off. And the Summer just forget about it. It’s way too hot.

I've been to Disney several times, but most recently in August and it was HOT!! I would think early September is going to be just as hot, but we managed and so would you!!

We went 3 yrs ago in Dec and the weather was 85-90 everyday. We just got back from Disney 2 weeks ago and the weather was the same 85-90. I like Dec because if the Christmas theme there. December last year in Fl. was not typical weather, it was unseasonalbly cold.

we went this past december and it was freezing. but talking to many florida residents this was a fluke thing and doesn't happen much.
and i can vouch for that because we have been to florida in dec. a handful of times.

I like end of sept/Oct - not too crowded but still nice (although hot) weather, MNSSHP is a lot of fun and it isn't crowded at the party yet. They also have their food and wine festival around that time which is nice to walk around. Halloween decorations are up.
But I have a friend who goes every year right near labor day and says it is good - not too crowded (if you have to work around school that is). They often have free dining or other specials that time of the year too.
Otherwise I like January - it can be cold but the crowds are low - also beginning of December is nice not too crowded and there is the christmas party and all the holiday decorations are up and gorgeous! Later in December is ridiculous and the parks fill to capacity - so I would avoid that time. We went one time about 1 week into January - the decorations were up for a day or two, crowds were really low - everything walk ons - temps - 70's most days one day low 80s. Nights were chilly though - 40-50s (one night we bought gloves) - but we were able to use the pools one day.
I have gone end of April beginning of May (not around spring break though) weather was gorgeous - warm but not too humid yet. The crowds were pretty low. Flower and garden festival is cute (I wouldn't go FOR that but it is fun to look at IF you are already there).

She said it is THE most crowded time of the year. We could not walk down the street and not be touching somebody for the most part.

I haven't gone with the kids yet but I've been researching. I think the most optimal times to go are May, Sept/Oct and early December.
When I was pregnant, I was planning to go in May but I don't think I'm up for taking a newborn and a very active 2yo. I'm just too tired.

I agree Oct/Nov is a great time. It's not too crowded and still warm enough to enjoy the pool but not too hot that you become a walking BBQ.

We went the week before Thanksgiving and it was perfect. The weather was great, warm during the day cooler at night....never too hot. The parks were not crowded, we barely had to wait on lines. They were decorated for Christmas, which was so beautiful and fun. The X-mas parade was amazing. I would go back again at that time in a heartbeat.

We have gone Labor Day week the past two years and it's great!! It's still hot, but not as brutal as when we go in June. It can be rainy at times, but it usually passes very quickly, and the lines are minimal.

We went the first week in March this year and it was SO SO crowded!! Plus it was cold, not all that enjoyable!
My favorite time to go is end of Oct/ early Nov when Epcot has it's Food and Wine festival  It's awesome!! We've also gone twice at the end of April/ early May and it's not too crowded and the weather has been perfect.

I agree. The weather is great and the Halloween Party is awesome because the park is much less crowded. (You need to buy another ticket to get into the party).
My dream is to go in early December when they are decorated for Christmas.

Early may and early nov. Weather is nice and kids are in school so shouldn't be too crowded.
Dec through March, weather can get really cold there and the summer months obviously it's ridiculously hot. April is crowded b/c of all the school breaks but the weather is nice.
ETA: sept and oct you run the risk of a lot of rain.

We went in October and December.
Enjoyed October better. It was really hot in October, but the crowds weren't bad and overall I just thought it was a better time to go.
Dec is unpredictable with weather and I felt it was much more crowded.

We have been at all times of the year.
You can't pay me to go in July or August ever again. Too crowded and too hot.
September and early November are my favorites. September is still hot, but the crowds are low. They start the Halloween party in September, which is always fun (the best fireworks show, IMO). Early November is a low crowd time and the weather is very comfortable. And if you time it right, they start the Christmas party in the second week of November, and that is just one of the best parties they have.
Early in the year, like February/March is a good weather and low crowd time to go. Although, In my experience it seems to be when they do most maintenance or ride updates. I have seen the most closed attractions during these months.
