disney itinerary- tell me what you think of this

hi all!!
ok so we are staying 6 nights at the AKL in september (9/11-9/17)

we are traveling with another couple with kids the same age as ours, 4 and 1 at time of travel

plan A
Tuesday- arrive at hotel around 3pmish/ and at around 5pm head to epcot since there is not much to do see or do other than dine. I think there are a few rides ( like 2/3) for kids

Wednesday- Animal Kingdom/break/ something at night, either dinner at hotel or downtown disney

Thursday- Magic Kingdom

Friday- Magic Kingdom

Saturday- Hotel day and something at night like downtown Disney or epcot again or Hollywood studios

Sunday-Hollywood studios

Monday- hotel day and check out by 4pm

Plan B
Tuesday- arrive at hotel prob around 3pm, head to Hollywood studios around 5pm? I guess we can basically do dinner , ride 1 or 2 attractions and then head to see Fantasmic

Wednesday- Animal Kingdom , possible date night

Thursday- Magic Kingdom, Cinderella dinner?

Friday- Magic Kingdom

Saturday- hotel day, epcot at night,
possible date night

Sunday- Hollywood studios

Monday-hotel day/check out

any advice? which do you think works best? why?
tia!!

Re: disney itinerary- tell me what you think of this

I am going in May. Honestly this is what I was thinking...we are doing MK first 2 days then last day probably will go back (and will likely go for a few hrs another night or two). I know it will be DDs favorite, as it is most kids'. The way I see it is, I feel since it's the most important park, I think we should do it first and a short visit on the last full day. God forbid DD got sick or something happened, I would hate to have left MK to the middle or end of the trip. JMO though.

I am doing it in this order

MK first 2-3 days and 2-3 nights
then DHS 1 day and 1 night
then Epcot 1 day and 1 night
AK last, since if I didnt make it here, I wouldnt be too upset (1 day, no night)
last day, anything we missed and really want to see anywhere...and MK at night

We are staying at the POLY and will see MK from the beach, etc, so I just cant make my DD wait to go to MK. MK is also my favorite park by far, then DHS follows. So that's the order I am going by, again, I go by order of importance b/c you never know if your child will get sick, etc and considering it's such a big trip, I feel getting the important things done first is best.

I have to agree with Goobster!

I would do MK in the beginning so you know you went!

Re: disney itinerary- tell me what you think of this

Well I know my girls liked HS the least of the 4 parks. Their 2 favorites were MK and EPCOT.

I actually beg to differ that there is nothing for kids at EPCOT. On our last trip the girls were 1 (turned 1 on the trip) and DD#1 was almost 3. They loved EPCOT. They rode every night we went - Nemo (several times), Turtle talk with Crush, Journey into your imagination, Spaceship earth, they were eh about living with the land - but some of our friends children like that one. They also loved the play area after journey into your imagination. They are probably too young for Misson to mars but there is an indoor play area after the ride that I hear is fun for kids.

They also loved the rides in Norway and made us go on the one in Mexico several times (they thought is was like it's a small world).

Additionally the loved the character interactions. You have Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy over in future world (can have long lines though). They also enjoyed walking around the interactive exhibits over in innovations. If your DC is on the taller side (at 4) they should be able to do Soarin (which has a baby swap you could use for the baby).

They also have a lot of characters in World Show case. If you have girls - there are a lot of princess opportunities in World Showcase. Mulan - China, Aladdin and Jasmine - Morocco, Belle and Beast France, Ariel - France, Marie from the Aristocats in France, Snow White - Germany, Pooh and Tigger, sometimes Alice and/or Mary Poppins in England. I find often the lines are shorter in EPCOT for meet and greets than they are in MK.

The girls also had fun watching the acrobats in China etc. There are some bands and other entertainment around in World showcase.

If it is hot there is a great interactive fountain to run around in - between World showcase and future world.

We only do 1/2 days at AK and HS. We split the rest of our time at MK and EPCOT (mainly EPCOT for dinners).

Have you checked to see what the crowds and shows will be like for those days? I'd choose based on that over which park I'd prefer to do first but I don't like crowds and lines and neither do our clients ;)

Re: disney itinerary- tell me what you think of this

I am going to agree with lilykat.
I could do with out HS until the kids are older. IMO there isnt much there for the kids and I felt like everythign was shows where you need to be at a certain place at a certain time. We only went there to see the Christmas light show.

We love epcot even my DS. Tons of food, some nice rides, lots of characters, and a great firework show.

MK is where you will want to spend most of your tiem as its geared towards the kids. but there isnt much in terms of sit down restaurants for dinners.

AK we have never spent more than 1/2 a day there. Its just always how it works out.

For the first day, I wouldn't use a whole day pass to go to one park for a few hours. I would check out the hotel, see the animals from your hotel and head to down town disney for dinner.
My 5 year old LOVED HS. But he is way into star wars. It was a must do for him to do the jedi training. We were there until the park closed. They loved the stunt show too.
